Browser Connection Check

VPNEF IP & DNS Leak Test

Check your current public IP and its location. After connecting to a route, run the test again to compare your IP.

Results show the route used by this browser request only, not the connection path of every app. Proxy detection depends on API data and cannot determine on its own whether a connection is secure.

What This Information Means

Public IP and Traffic Routing

Your public IP is the address our API sees as the source of your request. When a client is running, whether your browser uses the selected route depends on its proxy mode and routing rules. If this site is set to connect directly, the result may still show your local network's public IP.

Check the route and rules in your client, then run the test again. An unchanged IP alone doesn't mean the client failed to connect.

IP Location and ISP

Country and region are based on an IP geolocation database, not your device's location. The ISP field may show a carrier, data center, or network operator, and may not match the route name in your client.

Database results can vary. A matching location doesn't guarantee access to a particular AI tool or streaming service; check the service itself.

Limits of Proxy Detection

“Proxy detected” means the API has flagged your current public IP as proxy-related. “No proxy detected” means it didn't match the API's detection criteria this time; it doesn't prove your traffic isn't using a proxy.

If the API doesn't provide a detection field, the result will show “Temporarily unavailable.” Missing data is not treated as a negative result.

How to Check for DNS Leaks

DNS translates domain names into network addresses. The public IP check only examines requests to our API; it cannot see every DNS lookup. This page does not run a separate DNS leak test and will not declare “no leak” based on your public IP.

  1. Check your routing rules first. Review the client's current mode and the rule applied to the domain you're testing. Domains set to connect directly may use your local DNS resolver; for domains routed through a proxy, check the client's DNS settings too.
  2. Check your browser's DNS settings. Review its Secure DNS or encrypted DNS options. A browser may resolve domains differently from your operating system or client, so check each one.
  3. Review your client's diagnostics. Check the connection log or DNS diagnostics for how the domain was resolved and where the traffic was routed. Available fields vary by platform; refer to your client's documentation.
  4. Compare behavior before and after connecting. Keep your original settings and change just one thing at a time, then visit the same service. If you use a separate DNS testing tool, check which network the resolver belongs to rather than comparing only the displayed country.

For help importing a configuration and connecting, read our Getting Started Guide. To understand direct, relay, and dedicated routes, see our Protocol and Network Route Reference.

Query Privacy and Troubleshooting

We don't log queries. Checks run through a same-origin API. This page does not save results in your browser's local storage or fall back to a third-party public lookup API. The copy action copies only your public IP.

The API request needs network source information to return your public IP. Results do not reveal your device's precise location or confirm that other apps use the same route. Before sharing screenshots or troubleshooting logs, consider masking your full IP and any account information.

If you see “Temporarily unavailable,” first make sure you can access this site, then run the check again. You can also review your client's rules or try another route. If the API is unavailable or a field is missing, this page shows a clear notice instead of generating a substitute result.
